My client is a large Plant Hire company with multiple depots seeking a skilled Transport & Dispatch Operative to join their ever-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Plant Hire & logistics.
About your new Transport & Dispatch Operative role:
Select, prepare, and dispatch plant equipment accurately, ensuring correct items and safe loading.
Perform routine checks before dispatch and thorough inspections upon return, reporting any issues.
Maintain accurate hire records using software (e.g., inspHire), tracking machinery movements and stock levels.
Coordinate loading/unloading operations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Communicate effectively with drivers and manage logistics to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Deputise for the Transport Manager when required, overseeing scheduling
Ensure all data is updated and filed in line with company procedures.Requirements for the Transport & Dispatch Operative role:
Experience in logistics, route planning, and plant operations
Familiarity with plant/machinery preferred
IT literate; inspHire knowledge a plus
Full, clean UK driving licence (forklift licence beneficial)What the Transport & Dispatch Operative will get:
