I am seeking a new Transport Manager for a reputable client based in Norfolk. The purpose of this role is to plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost effective means. Ensuring they are in line with the business objectives, and a strong level of customer service.
Salary - Up to £45,000 DOE
On site role, 45 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Lead the full utilisation of IT systems and vehicles ensuring accurate and appropriate allocation of driver/vehicle/loads/trailers to improve the efficiency of the department
Provide leadership and motivation to the team, building an effective and engaging workforce
Lead on recruitment and training and development of your team
Build, grow and maintain effective working relationships with key stake holders
Create, promote and implement clear communication channels with internal departments and external customers to improve KPI's and the profitability of the business
Monitor all information to ensure it is up to date and held in a secure location in order to comply with GDPR legislation
Lead on the effective management of driver hours by authorising driver time sheets on a weekly basis and auditing and updating hours against the relevant systems to guarantee they are compliant to all regulations
Produce and audit relevant KPI's for the department and evaluate trends to continually improve processes, procedures and profit margins
Lead on the implementation and management of safe working practices, general housekeeping and manage audits from both external and internal clients to ensure the Company is compliant.What you will need:
Logistics qualification would be desirable
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
Relevant transport management experience
Experience managing a team
Transport operation systems
Working knowledge of the Highway Code
Working knowledge of EU Tachograph requirements
Commercial Awareness
