Job Title: Transport Officer
Location: Local authority based in Ealing
Hourly rate: £22.02 PAYE/ £29.17 Umbrella
Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time (35 hours a week) Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm
Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working- 2 days a week in the office

Job Purpose:
To lead, develop and manage a team of Passenger Assistants (PA) who assist children and adults with additional needs and disabilities to access educational and other service facilities inside and outside of the borough. Overall responsible for the day to day direct supervision and management of allocated Passenger Assistants and indirect supervision of a caseload of approximately 300+ clients through commissioned travel assistance contactors (approx 20) who provide around 150 staff.
Job Duties:
Managing the caseload and contributing to the team's operational contract management of all contracted services.
Leading the caseload and working with the Transport Hub team and wider services on the effective use of resources with an emphasis on the allocation of staff to optimise utilisation of vehicles and staff and other forms of travel assistance.
Ensuring electronic and other records used by the Transport Hub are up to date, accurate and reliable.
Responsible for reporting on the performance of the passenger assistants, flagging challenges and suggesting solutions.
Produce specific travel route risk assessments in line with Council Policy, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
Person Specification: The ideal candidate must have:
Experience of working with vulnerable clients, adults or children, and their families and carers, and understanding their complex and challenging needs in commissioning appropriate provision.
Ability to work under pressure to a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, undertaking multiple tasks.
Effective written and oral communication, good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of the principles of Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults when commissioning services.
Demonstrate negotiation and persuasion skills for use at all levels, whilst being ensuring that services are provided efficiently and effectively
