Transport Planner – Container Logistics
Portsmouth, Hampshire
£32,000 – £38,000 per annum (£615 - £730 per week) plus on-call bonuses up to £6,600/year
Are you a highly organised and experienced transport planner specialising in container haulage? Join our clients busy operations team based in Portsmouth, where you will play a crucial role in planning and coordinating container movements across the South, with occasional work at London Gateway.
Have you worked for DHL, PD Ports, Freight Liner, Hapag Lloyd, ONE, COSCO, MSC, Maersk or Kuehne + Nagel?

What We Offer:
* Competitive salary between £32,000 and £38,000 per annum (£615 - £730 per week based on 40 hours)
* On-call rota (1 week in 4) paid at £220 per week plus weekend hours (Saturday & Sunday) paid at time and a third
* 27 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and allocate daily container haulage work across our fleet
* Forward-plan workloads to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction
* Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors
* Manage delays and operational issues calmly and professionally
* Maintain accurate records using transport management systems (experience with TOPS advantageous)
* Occasionally assist with general haulage duties
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in container haulage planning and port operations
* Excellent communication and IT skills
* Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
* Flexibility to participate in the on-call rota
