Transport Planner – Trailers
Colchester | Full-Time
About the Role:
Our well established client is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their transport team where your skills will directly support the smooth running of daily logistics operations. This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone with a solid foundation in transport distribution and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and plan loads for a variety of vehicle sizes (pallet, groupage, LCL)
Provide accurate quotations to customers for transport services
Utilise the Transport Management System (TMS) to manage and track deliveries
Process delivery paperwork and issue clear instructions to drivers
Monitor daily distribution schedules and respond to any issues
Handle incoming customer calls and general transport enquiries
Produce operational reports for the Senior Transport Planner and Director
Collaborate with colleagues managing compliance, insurance, licences, training, invoicing, and PODs
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in transport distribution (pallet, groupage, LCL)
Experience using a Transport Management System (TMS) is essential
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
A proactive and adaptable approach to daily challenges
