Job Description
Streamline Recruitment have partnered with a global logistics company to recruit a Transport Planner to join their friendly growing team in Stanford-Le-Hope. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage a local distribution fleet, plan routes, coordinate with hauliers, and oversee fleet administration. There is excellent potential for career progression, including the opportunity to take on a leadership role in the future.
You will be responsible for a fleet of 15–20 vehicles, ranging from 7.5t-Class 2 and some Class 1, planning multidrop routes across London and the Southeast. You will act as a key point of contact for drivers and customers, handling enquiries, updates, delays, issues, and traffic updates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure planning is efficient, cost-effective, and reduces downtime using planning tools and geographical knowledge
* Plan daily routes and manage a mixed fleet of vehicles, including subcontractors and pallet network collections/deliveries
* Keep TMS systems up to date and monitor vehicle locations, including tracking driver performance
* Negotiate competitive transport rates with external hauliers
* Ensure paperwork is completed and accurately recorded in systems
* Manage vehicle damages in line with company policy to minimise downtime
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, drivers, and internal/external partners
Experience Required:
* Proven experience in transport planning and multidrop operations
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00–19:00
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
