Our client, a well-established and growing logistics company, is looking for a talented Transport Planner to join their dynamic team based in the heart of the UK's busiest container port, Felixstowe.
The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will be at the core of their operations. You will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective planning of container and trailer movements, ensuring a seamless service for their valued customers.
Your key duties will include:
Planning and scheduling daily transport runs for a fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Optimising routes and loads to maximise efficiency and profitability.
Allocating resources effectively, with a specific focus on trailer availability.
Liaising with drivers, customers, and port operatives to ensure smooth operations.
Proactively solving problems and mitigating delays.
Maintaining accurate records and providing timely updates.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will have:
Proven experience as a Transport Planner, preferably within a port or fast-paced HGV logistics environment.
Essential experience in planning for trailers – a strong understanding of their utilisation and management is key.
Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Competency with standard Transport Planning software.
The Reward:

A starting basic salary of £38,000 per annum.
A salary increase to £40,000 per annum after a successful 3-month probation period, subject to performance.
