📍 Warrington (WA2)
💰 £30,000 - £32,000 + Quarterly Bonus
🕒 Monday to Friday | 09:30 – 18:30

Matthew James Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing logistics business in Warrington with the appointment of a Transport Planner.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and proactive individual looking to develop their career within transport, logistics and operations. Our client is experiencing continued growth and is looking for someone who wants to make a genuine impact rather than simply manage the day-to-day.

The Role

As Transport Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating transport operations, ensuring efficient route planning, maintaining service levels and supporting wider operational activities across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  * Planning and coordinating daily transport routes across van and LGV fleets

  * Optimising vehicle utilisation and transport efficiency

  * Monitoring deliveries and resolving operational issues in real time

  * Managing route compliance and supporting 3PL relationships

  * Communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse teams and customers

  * Identifying opportunities to improve delivery performance and reduce delays

  * Supporting operational and warehouse activities during busy periods

  * Working collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth service delivery

  * Contributing ideas and initiatives to improve operational performance

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

  * Previous transport planning, logistics coordination or routing experience (preferred but not essential)

  * Strong geographical knowledge

  * Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  * The ability to work effectively under pressure

  * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  * A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn

  * Ambition to develop and progress within a growing business
