Transport Planner

Based at: Chillway Express Specials Ltd
Location: Unit 1, Newtown Trading Estate, Northway Ln, Tewkesbury GL20 8JG
Available Hours: Permanent – Full time - 40 hours

Currently available shift patterns include:

  * Monday to Friday - 1pm to 9pm

Flexibility is essential, and advance notice will be given for any rota changes.

Salary: £28,080 per year, rising to £29,120 after a successful 6-month probation period

We’re currently seeking a motivated and organised Transport Planner to join our team at our Tewkesbury office. Whether you’ve got experience in logistics or are eager to develop in this area, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

As a key member of the operations team, you will:

  * Create and manage daily delivery schedules to maximise vehicle utilisation

  * Monitor live deliveries and track arrival times

  * Liaise with drivers, customers, and depots to ensure smooth operation

  * Handle and resolve delivery queries within set timeframes

  * Complete driver debriefs and maintain accurate records

  * Support with invoicing and other administrative duties

  * Support a fast-paced transport operation with a customer-first approach

Training & Onboarding

All new starters will complete a minimum of one-month training period based fully in our Tewkesbury office before shift patterns begin. During this time, you’ll receive hands-on guidance in transport planning, internal systems, invoicing procedures, and customer service.

What we’re looking for

  * Previous transport planning experience is an advantage but not essential

  * Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office

  * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  * Highly organised with good attention to detail

  * Ability to stay calm and proactive under pressure

  * Empathetic, resilient, and open to learning

  * A genuine desire to support customers and achieve results

Working Hours

This is a full-time, fixed-hours position. Your total weekly hours will remain consistent, but your working days may vary week to week depending on operational requirements. You will be given appropriate notice before any changes made.
