Temporary Route Planner

Location: Burton upon Trent
Salary: £15.54 per hour
Hours: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary – Long-Term Sickness Cover

Our client, based in Burton upon Trent, is seeking an organised and proactive Route Planner to join their team on a temporary basis to provide cover for a long-term sickness absence.

This role is ideal for a candidate with previous route planning experience who can effectively coordinate schedules, manage changing priorities, and support the smooth day-to-day running of transport operations.

Key Responsibilities
Planning and scheduling routes to ensure efficient service delivery.

Liaising with drivers, customers, and internal departments.

Monitoring daily operations and adjusting schedules as required.

Maintaining accurate records and updating planning systems.

Responding promptly to operational issues and finding effective solutions.

Supporting the wider transport and logistics function with administrative duties.

Ensuring compliance with company procedures and operational requirements.

Candidate Requirements
Previous route planning experience is preferred.

Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Good IT skills and confidence using planning and scheduling systems.

A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.

Experience within transport, logistics, or distribution would be advantageous.

What's on Offer
