Job Title: Transport Planner – Logistics
Location: Leicestershire
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, 4 on 4 off (Days)

The Role
A logistics operation in Leicestershire is recruiting a Transport Planner to plan and build efficient delivery and collection routes for a regional fleet operating on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

What the role involves

  * Building the daily transport plan for the region: routes, trucks, timings

  * Maximising vehicle utilisation and minimising empty running

  * Working closely with the Section Leader and Deputy to ensure plans are realistic and deliverable

  * Reacting to live issues such as driver delays, breakdowns and last-minute customer changes

  * Arranging subcontracted cover where in-house capacity is exceeded

What's needed

  * Proven transport planning experience within haulage, distribution or logistics

  * Strong working knowledge of transport planning software/systems

  * Good communication skills — this role works hand-in-hand with the operational team, not in isolation

  * A collaborative mindset — full accountability sits with the whole team, not just planning
