Our lovely Client based in Droitwich is currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to carry out the following:
A transport planner is a key member of the team, primarily responsible for the smooth running of the delivery and collection vehicles.
Experience in planning and routing haulage and pallet network freight on Artic and Rigid vehicles
Establishing customer requirements and arrange collections and deliveries, within stated timescale.
Routing vehicles efficiently both from a time management point of a view and also to minimise distance travelled, with regard to weight and size of vehicle
Work using traffic management systems and prioritising freight to meet customer needs and the commercial needs of the company. Searching online platforms for loads as required. De brief drivers, manage and monitor their performance escalating any infringements or performance issues to management and HR department.
Ensure all work is carried out with due regard for the health & safety of customers, employees and visitors.
Report any accidents, incidents and issues to management immediately
Support the company in making sure all licence checks are kept up to date, that the WTD is adhered to, and that drivers have completed the training necessary for their driver DQC Monitor defect reporting and liaise with the workshop
Liaise with customers and suppliers, negotiating prices as necessary.
Support accounts and customer service teams to ensure that jobs can be invoiced promptly by making sure they priced in a timely manner.
All queries or complaints should be dealt with promptly to ensure customers get the best possible experience
Excellent IT skills and experience in TMS/routing programmes CPC and or experience in driver/vehicle compliance.
Working hours Full time permanent Monday— Friday
Rotating AM/PM shifts - Saturday AM One in three.
Shifts are 08.00 – 18.00, or 11.00 – 21.00 (or finish if done earlier) – these alternate on a daily basis so if you are doing lates today you do early tomorrow, which gives continuity into the following day, and then on the days you finish early you have a late start the following day – Saturdays are usually 8.00 – 13.00.
