Job Description
Bennett and Game are currently looking for a skilled Transport Planner to join one of our longest standing clients in the Plant, Civilis and Haulage industries based out of their Ipswich branch.
As a Transport Planner, you will support the Operations team by proactively managing the daily route planning of our transport fleet, ensuring maximum utilisation. You'll be responsible for coordinating and optimising the movement of plant equipment to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and safe transportation.
Transport Planner - Job Overview
Manage the planning, routing, and logistics of specialist plant and fleet.
Proactively manage and address any necessary changes based on demand.
Ensure the transport plan is effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
Schedule and coordinate daily store runs to refuel equipment at regional sites.
Work with external transport suppliers to secure adequate coverage at the best possible rates.
Monitor and schedule inspections, MOTs, servicing, and driver holidays.
Identify operational challenges, potential risks, and opportunities to enhance transport efficiency.
Maintain the haulage register for all externally sourced transport services.
Handle phone and email inquiries promptly and efficientlyTransport Planner - Job Requirements
Proven ability in a Planning role (HGV, Van & Plant fleets)
Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills
Good organisational skills. Able to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines, and the ability to deal with pressure in a professional manner
Continuous Improvement - Identify and create new and innovative ways of doing business and drive improvements.
A diligent, conscientious, analytical approach
Flexibility to participate in the 'Out of Hours' rota, which requires being on call from 18:00-23:00 on a rota basis.Transport Planner - Salary & Package
Salary £30-33k DOE
Monday - Friday 8:00 - 18:00
