Job Description
We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our next-day delivery operation. This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. The Role
As Transport Supervisor, you will oversee a team of professional drivers, ensuring operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll play a hands-on role in maintaining compliance, managing performance, and responding effectively to the day-to-day challenges of a dynamic logistics environment.
Standard working hours are 08:30 to 17:30 (with a 1-hour lunch), though some flexibility will be required based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee site-wide health and safety and transport compliance
*
Promote a proactive, safety-first culture across the team
*
Plan, monitor, and optimise delivery routes for maximum efficiency
*
Manage real-time operational changes, including volume fluctuations and scheduling
*
Support, coach, and develop drivers while addressing any compliance or performance concerns
*
Ensure vehicle maintenance and inspections are completed in line with regulations
*
Respond effectively to incidents such as vehicle breakdowns or delays
*
Monitor and manage the financial performance of the vehicle fleet
The Ideal Candidate
*
Proven experience in a Transport Supervisor or similar leadership role
*
Strong understanding of health and safety practices within a logistics environment
*
Confident managing and motivating teams to achieve performance targets
*
Familiarity with transport legislation and compliance (preferred but not essential)
*
Proficient with IT systems and comfortable working with data
*
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
*
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
