The Best Connection, in partnership with NEWREST, is seeking a dedicated Transport Support Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Crawley, Gatwick area.
Position: Transport Support Assistant
Location: Crawley, Gatwick Area (Manor Royal - part airside)
Hourly Rate: £14.27
Shifts: 5 on, 3 off (rotating)
Hours: Between 03:00 and 18:00 (day shifts only)
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
Start Date: As soon as possible.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated professional passionate about aviation to support critical airside operations. This role offers excellent training, competitive benefits, and a supportive work environment within the Crawley, Gatwick area.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct primary and vehicle security checks in compliance with CAA and DfT regulations
Assist with loading and unloading in-flight catering and supplies
Support aircraft catering and de-catering in line with flight schedules
Ensure accurate delivery of catering components according to galley plans
Handle airline trolleys and equipment while maintaining hygiene and safety standards
Transfer inbound catering from aircraft to washing and preparation areas
Operate equipment and manage loads up to 50lbs safely
Comply with COSHH and HACCP standards
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and operational efficiency
Provide support across departments as required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Minimum one year's experience in catering, logistics, or aviation (preferred)
Strong team ethic and proactive approach
Reliable, flexible, and committed
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
Essential Requirement:
Full UK manual driving licence
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Provide a 5-year checkable work and address history (managed by NEWREST)
Undergo a Criminal Record Check (DBS), paid by NEWREST
Complete General Security Awareness Training (GSAT), paid by NEWREST
Provide valid photo identification
Eligible to work in the UK
