Job Description

Tutor (EBSA Specialist) Location: Various (travel to students’ homes, schools, and local venues) Pay: £20–£30 per hour (dependent on experience) Hours: Flexible Are you an empathetic and experienced tutor with a passion for supporting young people who find it difficult to attend school? We’re looking for a dedicated EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) Specialist Tutor to join our growing team. About the Role You will work with students experiencing anxiety, low confidence, and low self-esteem — helping them re-engage with learning in a supportive and structured way. Lessons may take place at the student’s home, school, or a local community setting. Key Responsibilities Assess each learner’s individual needs and barriers to learning Plan and deliver a personalised scheme of work that builds confidence and promotes progress Develop positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust Track and report on student progress, attendance, and wellbeing Liaise with parents, schools, and other professionals where appropriate About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years’ tutoring experience Experience working with young people with EBSA, anxiety, or social/emotional needs Patient, understanding, and able to adapt your approach to each learner Confident working independently and managing your own caseload Willing and able to travel to students’ homes, schools, and local venues What We Offer Flexible working hours Supportive and understanding team environment Competitive pay of £20–£30 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience) Opportunities to make a real difference in young people’s lives If you’re passionate about helping students overcome barriers to education and rebuild their confidence, we’d love to hear from you.
