Job Description
The P&R UK Engineering Manager leads and manages a P&R electrical engineering team, focused on the UK market, effectively and efficiently. To safely deliver results and quality. To build client, consultant, supplier, vendor, and key stakeholder relationships. Implement best-in-class engineering processes and develop a high-performance engineering team and capability.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Team Management & Leadership
* Drive innovation and promote a culture of continuous improvement in engineering
* Lead clear communications within the UK engineering function, energise and engage the team to support Operations and deliver for the business
* Develop strong and collaborative relationships within the business
* Manage the team of P&R Electrical Engineers to serve the UK Operations team
* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and share best practices
* In conjunction with the engineering manager, ensure the correct organisational engineering structure and capability (key role holders in place) are in place (with relevant recruitment plans)
* Ensure weekly internal team meetings happen with minutes and actions available for review
* Work closely and collaboratively with the wider engineering team with attendance, input, and engagement at regular management meetings
* Ensure the UK engineering team comply with Processes and Procedures
* Ensure the UK engineering team complete ongoing annual appraisals
* Provide regular reporting to the P&R Engineering Manager
* Undertake other works or tasks as assigned by the P&R Engineering Manager
Engineering Management & Leadership
* Lead and manage the UK engineering team to develop its operational excellence and people to deliver efficiently, meet business needs, quality standards and regulatory requirements
* Provide day-to-day leadership (client, business development, technical – design, engineering & commercial)
* Maintain and develop a high-performance culture
* Support the P&R Engineering Manager in handling project issues and challenges across the business
* Develop detailed project engineering plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements
* Engage with the development and improvement of processes and procedures
* Implement effective engineering monitoring mechanisms to track progress and identify potential risks
* Ensure engineering milestones align with overall project goals
* Lead meetings within the UK P&R engineering team and with internal clients to ensure optimum performance
Risk Management
* Identify and assess potential risks associated with engineering projects
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions
Resource Allocation
* Assess team workload and allocate resources based on priorities
* Optimise utilisation for efficiency and productivity
Stakeholder Engagement
* Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external clients
* Provide direction to estimating team:
* Accurate technical input for cost estimation
