As an Underground Utility Surveyor, you'll plan and carry out surveys, capture clear site information, and record accurate data to support effective maintenance planning and delivery. You'll investigate and confirm the location and condition of roadside apparatus using both desktop information and site visits, producing clear records and reports that support follow-up activity. You will be responsible for: Planning and carrying out chamber and site surveys across the network. Identifying, photographing, and recording site locations accurately. Recording survey results in Transport Scotland's Asset Management Performance System (AMPS) and keeping data up to date. Maintaining accurate spreadsheets and survey records, including Excel-based reporting. Ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and aligned with the agreed survey scope. Working closely with network management to help plan maintenance activity and minimise disruption to road users. Following all health and safety requirements, including CDM 2015 where applicable. Operating in line with company procedures and the management system at all times. We want to hear from you if you have: A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your time effectively. A practical, solutions-focused mindset and confidence communicating with a range of teams. Experience in trunk roads or highway maintenance, or similar field-based inspection or survey work. A strong commitment to health and safety, with an understanding of legislation relevant to a roads environment. The ability to work to deadlines and manage workloads across multiple sites. Confidence working independently and using IT systems to record and manage data. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the Traffic Scotland Infrastructure Contract (TSIC) (training and support can be provided, depending on experience). A CSCS card and Site Management Safety (CITB) qualification are desirable. A full UK driving licence is essential.
