Overview
As part of continued expansion, we have a new opportunity within a lean and dynamic underwriting team based on the beautiful island of Bermuda. This role supports a global portfolio, with significant exposure to the US market, across general liability, cyber, and other specialty lines.
We’re seeking a professional with a strong analytical and actuarial/underwriting foundation. While treaty experience is ideal, we also welcome candidates from direct underwriting backgrounds—particularly those who’ve transitioned from pricing or actuarial roles and can bring a data-driven mindset to portfolio management.
What You’ll Bring As Underwriter:
This is a fast-paced platform, and the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, contribute immediately, and operate with autonomy.
Skills, qualifications and experience:
Maths or Applied Science Degree: Along with relevant experience as an Actuary or Underwriter.
Solid experience in treaty or direct underwriting, with exposure to pricing or actuarial disciplines
Familiarity with general liability, cyber, and other relevant specialty classes
Proven ability to work independently within a lean, results-driven team
Comfortable transitioning quickly into a new role and adapting to a fast-paced environment
Willing and able to relocate for a 2+ year contract commitment and also to travel frequently, including regular visits to London—this is a core part of the role. The employer appreciates that current notice periods can sometimes be lengthy and will find a solution for the successful candidates.
