Our client is seeking an experienced Unit Bridge Manager to manage a portfolio of bridge and structural assets across the network. This role requires a highly skilled chartered engineer with strong technical leadership, programme management expertise and the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects involving inspection, maintenance and structural improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Asset & Programme Management
*
Lead and deliver concurrent projects and work programmes for structures within the unit.
*
Oversee completion of annual inspections, routine, cyclical and planned maintenance for bridges and structural assets.
*
Manage specialist improvement programmes including:
*
High-risk parapets
*
Scour assessments
*
At-risk pier assessments
*
Hidden Defects
*
Half Joints
*
Post-Tensioned Special Inspections
*
Footbridges vulnerable to impact
Technical Leadership
*
Act as Technical Approval Authority under the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) for Approvals in Principle (AIP).
*
Review and assess Departures from Standard prior to endorsement by the Chief Bridge Engineer.

Produce clear technical reports, approvals and documentation.

Essential Required Qualifications & Experience

Chartered Engineer – MICE or MIStructE.
*
Extensive experience in bridge design, assessment and preferably maintenance.
