Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton to recruit an enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher for a full-time role starting ASAP or January 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom experience, deliver lessons, and work towards a teaching career-all while inspiring young minds and helping students grow in confidence with reading, writing, and communication.
The Role:
Deliver engaging and structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with support from qualified teachers
Use pre-prepared materials to lead lessons and assist in curriculum delivery
Provide small group or one-to-one support, especially for students needing additional literacy help
Support classroom behaviour, engagement, and progress
Collaborate closely with the English department and contribute to school life, including reading clubs or enrichment activities
Who We're Looking For:
A recent English graduate or someone with strong subject knowledge (English Language, Literature, Creative Writing, etc.)
A confident communicator with a genuine passion for education and language
Someone who is considering a future in teaching and wants valuable school-based experience
Organised, resilient, and enthusiastic with a professional approach
Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, youth work, etc.) is highly desirable
