About the Role
A welcoming nursery in Oxfordshire is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in childcare and gain valuable experience within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Working alongside experienced Early Years practitioners, you will help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating setting where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and develop through play. No formal childcare qualification is required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for working with young children.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children aged 0–5 years with their learning, care, and development
* Assist with delivering engaging activities and play experiences
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
* Support children's social, emotional, physical, and communication development
* Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, and transitions
* Observe children's progress and provide feedback to the nursery team
* Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* A genuine passion for working with young children
* Previous experience working with children is desirable, whether in a nursery, school, care, or voluntary setting
* Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to learn and develop within an Early Years setting
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Right to Work in the UK
Desirable:
* Experience within a nursery or Early Years setting
* Knowledge of the EYFS framework
* Paediatric First Aid qualification
* Interest in completing an Early Years or Childcare qualification
