Role Overview
The school arewishing to appoint an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. You will work under the guidance of qualified teachers to help raise standards of pupil attainment and support pupils’ social, emotional, and educational development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and considering a future career in education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide classroom support to the class teacher, including:
Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities
Supporting individual pupils or small groups (particularly those with additional needs)
Helping to prepare resources, displays, and teaching materials
Promote positive behaviour, encouraging pupils to work and play harmoniously
Supervise pupils at break times and lunchtimes as required
Support with reading, writing, numeracy, and other basic skills interventions
Assist with routine administrative tasks (e.g., photocopying, filing, maintaining records)
Help pupils develop social and behavioural skills, and model positive attitudes
Provide general welfare, pastoral care, and first-aid support (training provided)
Person Specification
Essential
Enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents
Good inter-personal skills and ability to build rapport quickly
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C or equivalent)
Willingness to learn and adapt to feedback (full training provided)
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
Desirable
Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, e.g., nursery, holiday club, youth work
Awareness of safeguarding and child-protection procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
