Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Vale of Glamorgan
Location: Vale of Glamorgan
Pay: £110 - £120 per day
Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: September 2025 (on-going throughout the academic year)
Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident, adaptable, and motivated Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. There are part-time and full-time opportunities, ideal for students, graduates or individuals looking to gain experience in education.
This opportunity offers a dual role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
When not covering lessons, you will work as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), helping students in the classroom with their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-set work to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
Maintain classroom order and ensure pupils stay on task
Support students with their learning as a teaching assistant when not covering lessons
Report any issues back to teaching staff or senior leaders
Contribute to a positive and safe learning environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Strong classroom presence and communication skills
Ability to engage and motivate young learners
Flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups
Experience in a school, tutoring, youth work, childcare or coaching is beneficial but not essential
A genuine interest in working with young people and considering a career in education
Ideal for:
Recent graduates (especially in Maths, English, Science, Psychology or Education)
Aspiring teachers or PGCE applicants
Individuals looking for meaningful, full-time experience in a school setting
