A Bedfordshire Local Authority is seeking a proactive and compassionate Upstream Prevention Officer to join their Housing & Homelessness Service.
This role focuses on early intervention, working with individuals and households at risk of homelessness to prevent issues from escalating, with a strong emphasis on tenancy sustainment and partnership working.
Deliver an effective homelessness prevention, advice and support service to those at risk of losing their accommodation.
Work closely with internal departments and external partners (including landlords, support services and community organisations) to identify risks at the earliest stage.
Conduct outreach across community locations such as local libraries and Citizens Advice centres to identify individuals at risk of homelessness and provide early intervention support.
Manage a caseload of prevention cases, developing and progressing Personalised Housing Plans to achieve positive outcomes.This role requires 4 days per week on-site to support effective partnership working, early intervention activity and case management.
