Senior / Principal Urban Designer Location: Sheffield or Leeds (Hybrid Working) Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits Type: Permanent, Full-Time A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with exciting growth ambitions is seeking a Senior or Principal Urban Designer to join its expanding Masterplanning & Urban Design team in either Sheffield or Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced urban design professional who wants to work on high-impact projects and help shape the future of places across the UK, while building a long-term career in a supportive and ambitious team environment. Your responsibilities will include: ·Leading and contributing to residential masterplanning, urban regeneration, and sustainable urban extension projects ·Developing strategic concepts and visualisations from early-stage feasibility through to outline planning ·Managing a portfolio of projects or supporting larger schemes as part of a multidisciplinary team ·Producing high-quality design work, reports, and presentation materials ·Building strong relationships with clients and offering clear, well-structured advice ·Supporting team leadership and contributing to new business development ·Collaborating with colleagues on the delivery of team growth objectives and wider business strategy About You: To be successful in this role, you should bring: ·A degree in urban design, architecture, or a related discipline ·Strong UK-based experience in a design-led planning or architecture environment ·Demonstrable experience working on residential and mixed-use projects for housebuilders, developers, or local authorities ·Sound understanding of UK planning and urban design principles ·A creative design flair with the ability to develop concepts from strategic scale through to detailed layouts and public realm design ·Excellent proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office ·Strong hand drawing/sketching skills ·Excellent attention to detail, project management ability, and communication skills If youre a urban designer looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to play a key role in a growing team, we'd love to hear from you.
