Job Description:
We are currently recruiting experienced and reliable 3.5T delivery drivers to join our team delivering furniture to residential customers. This is a hands-on role, working as part of a two person team alongside a driver’s mate. You will be responsible for loading, delivering, and, in some cases, assembling furniture in customers' homes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver furniture to residential addresses across the region
* Load and unload delivery vehicles (heavy lifting required, up to 150kg with assistance)
* Work closely with your driver’s mate to ensure timely and efficient deliveries
* Communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service
* Assemble furniture at the customer’s premises when required
* Operate a handheld PDA (Epod) to confirm successful deliveries
* Complete all relevant paperwork and proof of delivery (POD) documentation
* Perform vehicle checks before and after your shift (for drivers only)
* Follow all road safety rules and speed limits
Requirements:
* Aged 21 or over (for insurance purposes)
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
* Minimum 12 months of van driving experience
* Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
* Experience in multi-drop delivery or furniture delivery preferred
* Furniture assembly experience highly desirable
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work afternoons into the evening
Shift Information:
* PM shifts: 13:30 – 22:00 or until route is completed
Induction Process:
Part 1: Completed online prior to attending the site. Candidates must score at least 11 out of 14 and select “Boston Park” as their site.
Part 2: Conducted at the depot and includes a site tour and additional online modules.
* Inductions are usually held at 12:00, 12:30, or 13:00
* Candidates must wear a Hi-Vis vest and safety shoes
* Workwear or dark, non-branded, non-offensive clothing is required
* Induction is paid (2 hours)
* Candidates may be required to complete a shift after induction (13:30 – 22:00 or until route completion)
