Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative / Driver to join one of our clients based in Birmingham. This role combines driving duties with warehouse responsibilities, supporting the smooth running of daily logistics and operations.
Approximately 60% of the role will involve driving, therefore a full UK driving licence with a clean record is essential. Driving will mainly be local deliveries, with occasional visits to London.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse or logistics experience to contribute to a dynamic and well-organised working environment.
Key Duties
* Carry out local deliveries and collections, ensuring goods are transported safely and efficiently
* Drive company vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company procedures
* Receive goods into the warehouse, sign for deliveries and check items against delivery notes
* Report any discrepancies or damaged goods promptly
* Book goods onto internal systems and ensure accurate documentation
* Stock management, including distributing goods to the relevant departments and ensuring safe storage
* Load and unload goods using safe handling techniques
* Operate forklift and warehouse equipment safely (training may be provided if required)
* Maintain general housekeeping throughout the warehouse and site
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are followed at all times
* Support general warehouse operations to maintain an organised and efficient workspace
Requirements
* Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
* Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to 25kg+)
* Basic IT skills for booking goods onto systems
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
* Forklift licence (FLT) desirable but not essential
Additional Information
* Working hours:
Monday – Thursday: 7:15am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:15am – 2:15pm
* Employment type: Temp to Perm
