Job Description
Introduction: We are an agency recruiting for a Vehicle Recovery Control Room Operator in the Stotfold area. The position is to work in a busy control room for a local Automotive, Garage and Recovery business.
Job Title: Vehicle Recovery Control Room Operator
Location: Stotfold
Description: Working on the telephone, receiving calls from customers including Motoring Organisations, the Police, Highways agencies and the general public, prioritising jobs and dispatching resources to attend rescue and recovery incidents throughout Manchester and surrounding areas.
The control room operates 24/7 and the environment is fast-moving and can often be very busy and stressful.
Experience & Skills: No Recovery industry experience is necessary however all applicants MUST have the following skills and experience:
·Worked in a call-handling / help desk environment handling large volumes of calls and experience of allocating jobs to external resources such as technicians or engineers
·Able to work on their own initiative and take charge of the situation; managing the job from initial contact to completion
·Prioritise workloads in a pressurised and fast-moving environment
·Computer literate and familiar with Windows based IT systems. Superb telephone, administrative and organisational skills
·Calm and professional approach
·Proven track record dealing with customers at all levels
·Excellent local and good national geographic knowledge
·Ability to empathise and understand that there is never a good time to break down.
·Be prepared to muck in when required.
Experience of the breakdown & recovery or automotive industries is an advantage but not essential.
Training: Training will be given as part of an induction program and additional systems training.
Shift & Hours: 4 on / 4 off shift pattern: 06:00-18:00
Will include some weekend and Bank Holiday working as part of a shared roster with other colleagues.
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Job Status: Temporary - ongoing to cover sick leave, may lead to long-term contract or permanent transfer. Immediate interviews and starts.
Vetting: Our client will undertake vetting including referencing for up to 5 years and may require a DBS check or a full NPPV (Non-Police Personnel Vet) Level 2 Police Check; therefore, if you have any criminal convictions or cautions in the UK or abroad, you MUST declare them to us at the time of applying.
