Vehicle Welder required in Atworth, Wiltshire
SALARY: £36,504 annual starting salary pending experience plus bonus opportunities available.
HOURS: 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Our client, a commercial vehicle bodybuilder who is part of a larger multi-award-winning dealer group, is currently recruiting for a Vehicle Welder for their centre in Atworth.
Reporting to the Depot Manager and working as part of a friendly team, your key responsibilities as a Vehicle Body Builder will include:
Welding of mild and stainless steel & alloys using both MIG and TIG processes.
Measuring, cutting and finishing welded works to high standards.
Maintaining own tooling and workstations.
Ensuring the workstation is kept clean and tidy and free from fire risks.
Training other team members when applicable.
Using hand tools such as grinders, circular saws, band saws and other hand tools relevant to the job.
Working independently and on own initiative to set timelines and standards.
Ensuring standards of good housekeeping are achieved in all work areas, including workshops, vehicles and at on-site locations.
Carry out any other reasonable projects, tasks or duties to support the business as directed by management.
Compliance with company H&S, maintenance procedures & quality control to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Ensure good personal time keeping and conduct in line with agreed policies and procedures.
Ensure all safety, regulatory rules, and company changes/alterations to working practices are adhered to.To be eligible, you will have MIG and TIG welding experience. If you are a coded welder, that would be highly preferred, but is non-essential. You will also have your tools and a UK driving licence with minimal points. Formal qualifications in vehicle body building would be preferred but not essential, as training is provided. Overall, you will have an eye for detail, be health and safety conscious, have an excellent understanding of the manufacturing process, have good communication skills, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and be willing to solve problems as and when they arise.
