Job Description

Veterinarian. New Zealand. $100k - $145k DOE Join a practice with heart, humour, and genuine support. If you are someone who enjoys real farm work, real relationships, and real impact, this is your chance to join a respected private practice at the heart of New Zealand’s dairy country. They are looking for someone who’s motivated, practical, and ready to thrive in a supportive, well-equipped production animal team. About You You’re a proactive veterinarian, ideally with experience in dairy cattle medicine, who enjoys working closely with farmers and is great with people. You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and want an environment where your ideas matter. Whether you’ve got two years under your belt or you’re earlier in your journey but eager to learn, we’d love to talk. What they offer You’ll be joining a motivated, proudly independent, Lincoln Leadership Accredited practice with a loyal farm-owner client base. Here’s what you can count on: * A strong remuneration package ($100k–$145k depending on experience). * A varied caseload across dairy, beef, sheep, goats, deer, and alpacas. Strictly production animals, no smallies or equine. * A shared 1-in-5 roster, with one weeknight and one weekend in five on call. * Four weeks paid annual leave. * Time and financial support for continuing education, with a CE budget up to $5k (with approval). * A vehicle supplied for work and private use (or mileage reimbursement if you prefer to use your own), plus phone, laptop, all fees paid, and income protection insurance. * Access to excellent equipment including backpack scanners, Infovet, and a skilled team of vets, nurses, techs, and support staff. About the Practice & Location This is a single-clinic, community centred practice where people genuinely look after one another. “Family first” isn’t a slogan here; it’s how they run. The clinic is modern, purpose-built, and right next to the town’s major supermarket, with cafés, shops, and amenities a short stroll away. And then there’s Cambridge itself: a picture-perfect rural town with an undeniably English feel, close to Hamilton and within easy reach of Tauranga, Taupō, Auckland, Ruapehu, and the coast. You’ll have Hobbiton on your doorstep, great schools, mountain-bike tracks, walking trails, and plenty of sports close by. So, what's next? If you want a role where you can grow your skills, enjoy real variety, and live in one of New Zealand’s most loved rural towns, we’d love to hear from you. Don’t stress about having the perfect CV. Just reach out, start the conversation, and ask us anything. We’ll be honest about what life here is really like. Bring your talent; we’ll bring the support, the fun, and the incredible location
