The Role
As Ward Manager, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to your nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing visible and effective clinical leadership across the ward
Leading, supporting and developing a team of nursing professionals
Ensuring consistently high standards of patient care and clinical practice
Supporting staff through regular supervision, mentoring and professional development
Working closely with senior management and the wider multidisciplinary team
Promoting recovery-focused care and positive patient outcomes
Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, policies and best practice
Supporting the management of staffing, resources and ward performance
Acting as a positive role model and creating an engaging, supportive working environment
Encouraging continuous improvement and maintaining a strong focus on quality and patient safetyWhat We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Previous leadership experience within a mental health or similar healthcare setting
Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs
Strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to motivate, develop and support a nursing team
