Ward Manager - Mental Health Services

💷 Up to £53,000 | Full-Time (37.5 hours)
An established and respected provider of specialist mental health services is seeking a Ward Manager to lead one of their inpatient units in Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated clinical team delivering high-quality care across areas such as acute mental health, rehabilitation and recovery, PICU, eating disorders, or CAMHS.
You will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day running of the ward, ensuring clinical excellence, staff development, and safe, person-centred care. The successful candidate will be a confident and compassionate nurse leader with a strong understanding of mental health services and regulatory compliance.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Provide visible clinical leadership across the ward
Oversee rota management, staffing levels, and skill mix
Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
Support, supervise, and appraise the nursing team
Drive quality improvement and contribute to audits and service development
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
👤 What You'll Need:
Registered Nurse (RMN / RNLD) or equivalent with valid NMC registration
Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or senior clinical role
Strong understanding of CQC standards, clinical governance, and mental health legislation
Ability to manage priorities, lead a team, and maintain a positive ward culture
Prior experience in acute, rehab, PICU, ED, or CAMHS settings is desirable
