Ward Manager - Acute Mental Health (CAMHS & Adult)
Full-time | 37.5 hours | Chelmsford
Join a leading private healthcare provider as a Ward Manager overseeing an 11-bedded acute ward supporting young people aged 13-18, with links to adult general psychiatry and addiction treatment services. This is a hands-on leadership role within a compassionate, multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day running of the ward, ensuring safe, effective care delivery.
Manage staffing levels, skill mix, rotas, annual leave and training schedules.
Provide supervision, appraisals and CPD oversight for nursing staff.
Support assessments, care planning and therapeutic interventions.
Drive service improvements, clinical standards and audit activity.
Requirements:
NMC or HCPC registration.
Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience in a relevant mental health setting.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing nursing or care teams.
Confident in rota management, clinical governance and service development.
Resilient, compassionate and able to manage multiple priorities.
