Warehouse/FLT Driver
Location: Highbridge, Somerset
Hours: Monday to Friday - Days & Afternoons
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm
Role Overview
As Warehouse & Forklift Operator you will play a critical role in our clients operations: ensuring the smooth movement, storage and dispatch of raw materials and finished product in the warehouse. You’ll operate forklifts safely, maintain stock accuracy, assist in loading/unloading deliveries and help keep the warehouse environment organised and compliant with food-safety and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate forklift trucks (reach, counter-balance) to move, stack and retrieve materials.
Load and unload delivery vehicles, checking documentation and condition of goods.
Receive incoming goods, verify quantities, inspect for damage and log into warehouse system.
Pick, pack and prepare outbound orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Maintain clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment (housekeeping, waste disposal, hazard reporting).
Support stock-takes and cycle counts; assist with stock reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
Collaborate with production, quality and logistics teams to meet daily schedules and targets.
Adhere to food hygiene, quality and safety policies (including GMP, hygiene zones, PPE).
Requirements
Valid forklift licence / certificate (reach & counter-balance) preferred; training can be provided for the right candidate.
Previous experience in a warehouse environment, ideally in food manufacturing or ingredients sector.
Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills; ability to use warehouse IT systems or scanners.
Ability to lift/move materials (up to relevant weight limits), stand/walk for long periods and work in a busy warehouse setting.
Strong team-player with a positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work shifts times as required
