M4 Recruitment are looking for a Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations for one of our clients based in Swindon.
You will be responsible for driving performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering operational excellence. This role suits someone who is resilient, decisive, and passionate about logistics and team leadership.
Working Hours

Monday to Thursday (9.30am – 5.30pm)

Friday: (9.00am – 5.00pm)
Key Responsibilities
*
Warehouse Operations:
Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring compliance with internal standards and legal requirements. Manage all inbound/outbound shipments and coordinate returns and inventory transfers.

Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS). Conduct regular cycle counts and audits, and implement controls to minimise losses and discrepancies.
*
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing warehouse team. Delegate tasks, monitor individual and team performance, and provide coaching to support development and engagement.

Health & Safety:
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations. Lead risk assessments, safety briefings, and incident investigations. Promote and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Process Improvement:
Analyse workflows to identify and implement improvements. Adopt lean principles and automation where appropriate to boost efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Customer Service:
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Handle any issues, returns, or special requests with professionalism.

Performance Monitoring:
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including order accuracy, turnaround times, and cost efficiency.

Security:
Ensure the warehouse and its assets are protected from theft, damage, and unauthorised access.
*
Technology & Systems:
Use and administer WMS and other technologies, ensuring accurate data input and smooth system operation. Collaborate with IT for system upgrades and improvements.
*
Compliance:
Maintain adherence to legal and regulatory standards, including handling of hazardous materials, waste disposal, and relevant customs procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
*
3–5 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics management with proven leadership responsibilities.
*
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
*
Proficiency in warehouse management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
*
In-depth knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
*
High attention to detail in inventory control and reporting.
*
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and holidays if required.
*
Valid driving licence with no endorsements.
*
Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, and counterbalance vehicles.
*
Good level of physical fitness.
