Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: DA4
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30 (occasional extended hours as needed)
Role Overview
We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to support smooth warehouse operations, including picking, packing, goods inwards/outwards, forklift duties, and occasional vehicle driving. A full clean driving licence and a valid counterbalance forklift licence are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Pick and pack products and organise appropriate dispatch, following “Goods Outwards” procedures.
Input dispatch data via computer systems for each courier, ensuring accuracy.
Carry out goods inwards processing and handle product returns per warehouse guidelines.
Rotate stock to maintain traceability and trackability.
Load and unload vehicles using counterbalance forklift truck when necessary.
Liaise with Customer Service to determine order priority.
Develop and refine systems with the Warehouse Supervisor to streamline operations.
Undertake sample counting, cycle counts, and general stock control.
Continuously improve housekeeping and health & safety standards.
Support the Warehouse Manager with additional duties as required.
Flexible approach with willingness to work beyond standard hours when needed.
Follow instructions and procedures; deliver results and meet customer expectations.
Work effectively with people, adapt to change, cope under pressure, meet personal work goals, and apply expertise & technology.
Person Specification
Essential
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
* Valid counterbalance forklift licence (e.g. RTITB, ITSSAR).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse operations.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent decision-making under pressure.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
* Strong organisation and multitasking abilities.
* High attention to detail in planning and execution.
* Proven track record of achieving/exceeding objectives.
* Proactive, enthusiastic, driven.
* Willingness to work outside core hours when required.
Skills & Attributes
* Ability to follow safety procedures and health regulations.
* Competence in warehouse management systems and courier platforms.
* Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks and extended standing.
* Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
* Data entry accuracy and basic numeracy for stock control.
Hours & Remuneration
* Schedule: 08:00–17:30, Monday to Friday (approx. 45 hrs/week), with occasional extended hours.
* Salary/Rate: £27, 000PA
