Job Description
I am looking for a Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver for my client based in Welwyn Garden City, this is a temporary position leading to a permanent position for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck.
• Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
• Taking goods to the appropriate storage space – using loading and lifting gear for heavy goods.
• Keeping a careful record of the stock, so that it can be located quickly.
• Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely.
• Picking orders from the storage space and bringing them for packing to the loading bay for transportation.
• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will also be part of the daily routine.
• Cleaning and maintaining the company's products will be a major part of your role.
• With heavy equipment in operation warehouses can be dangerous places, so following workplace health and safety rules will be essential.
• Carry out stock counts as and when required
• Keep paperwork up to date
• Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner
• Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operation efficiency
• Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value
Monday to Friday 08.00-17.00 and overtime available at peak times of year
