Warehouse Supervisor
Burnley
Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (£35,000 - £37,000)
5 days over 7 Rotating 6:00am-2:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm (£32,000 - £34,000)
Rapid Recruit are currently looking for experienced Warehouse Supervisors on behalf of our client in Burnley. The successful candidate will lead the operational team to control and positively impact agreed operational KPI targets such as productivity, SLAs, absence, quality and Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Thoroughly understand and interpret data relating to operational productivity and performance and implement proactive solutions to achieve area performance targets
* Strategically improve processes, applying Lean methodology and using the data to look at future improvement
* Utilise proactive sustainment tools to keep processes under control and maintain improvement Planning and Processes
* Attend daily operational review meetings, updating operational leadership team with accurate, relevant information to enable the DC to meet its business targets
* Prepare resource requirement forecasts to support operational budget process
* Complete peak readiness plan in preparation for review
* Create high levels of employee engagement by managing day-to-day communications and promoting ‘performance through engagement’ strategies within the area of responsibility
* Act as a role model for the team by being personally accountable for setting high standards of behaviour and ensuring these are demonstrated at all times
* Set clear direction and accountability in delivering operational objectives and carry out regular performance reviews to ensure all direct reports are fully aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities
* Ensure accurate and relevant processes are carried out in a timely manner
* Develop an operational talent pipeline and succession plan through regular performance reviews and the use of ‘Hi-Potential’ colleague Personal Development Plans
* Create a culture of continuous improvement by seeking input from all levels of staff and supporting onsite committees
* Ensure compliance with all legal and company requirements, working within site SLA and including but not limited to Health & Safety, security and environmental.
Requirements:
* Experience in a high-volume warehouse environment
* Experience implementing Continuous Improvement strategies to support a Lean methodology approach
* Extensive people management experience
* Able to develop and motivate a large team to achieve their goals
* Able to adapt and change rapidly
* Sound financial understanding with strict cost control discipline
* Sound understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and regulations
