Job Description
Position: Warehouse Supervisor
* Location: Essex
* Salary: £15 per hour
* Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse operatives and forklift drivers
* Ensure accurate picking, packing, and loading of orders
* Monitor the condition and quality of stock, especially perishable items like bananas and tropical fruit
* Conduct daily checks to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
* Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and maintaining accurate records
* Support new staff with onboarding and training
* Manage shift handovers and ensure smooth communication across teams
* Report operational issues, damages, or delays to the Warehouse Manager promptly
* Ensure the warehouse remains clean, safe, and organised at all times
* Support in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Team Leader in a chilled, food, or FMCG environment
* Strong knowledge of stock handling, food hygiene and manual handling procedures
* Ability to lead by example and manage performance effectively
* Good understanding of health & safety regulations
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
