Job Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Loaders to join our Waste and Recycling team in Powys. As a Loader, you will play a vital role in maintaining clean and tidy communities by collecting household waste, recycling, and garden refuse on scheduled rounds. The Loader position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, loading waste and recycling safely onto collection vehicles, and ensuring bins are returned neatly to residents’ properties. This is a physically demanding and rewarding role ideal for reliable individuals who take pride in keeping our streets clean and supporting essential waste collection services.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Collect household waste, recycling, and garden refuse on designated routes
✅ Safely load materials onto refuse and recycling vehicles
✅ Return bins neatly to residents’ properties, ensuring footpaths and driveways remain unobstructed
✅ Assist the driver with directions and safety during collections
✅ Carry out daily tasks in all weather conditions
✅ Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
✔ Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
✔ Punctual, reliable, and able to work early mornings
✔ Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
✔ Commitment to health and safety standards
✔ Previous experience in waste management or a similar outdoor, manual role is desirable but not essential
