WASTE AND RECYCLING MANAGER The Opportunity We are a contract cleaning and soft services provider to the FM arena in London and widely regarded as the employer of choice. We manage and support both end user clients and managing agents with several Iconic buildings and developments you will recognise. Working in a high-profile campus in Chiswick, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Waste and Recycling Manager. This role offers the exciting opportunity to take the lead in enhancing the site’s waste management and recycling operations while integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations. The ideal candidate will have a strong waste management background and be motivated to evolve into a full ESG role with potential for broader responsibilities across the company portfolio. The Package * 44k basic * 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays) The Role of the Waste and Recycling Manager Waste and Recycling Operations: * Manage the Waste & Recycling strategy for the campus, ensuring all waste systems and teams operate efficiently and optimally. * Oversee waste audits, implement new waste streams, and improve overall waste management performance. * Collaborate with stakeholders to create aligned waste strategies, ensuring sustainability goals are met. ESG Integration and Strategy Development: * Develop and implement ESG strategies and initiatives across the site, ensuring alignment with the business. * Work closely with internal teams to integrate ESG principles into daily operations, processes, and decision-making. * Support the company's sustainability and carbon-neutral goals through waste and recycling programs. Reporting and Analysis: * Monitor and report on waste management performance, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting in line with ESG performance metrics. * Develop and present regular reports to key stakeholders, showcasing the impact of waste initiatives and broader ESG activities. * Create and execute educational campaigns and initiatives to engage the site’s workforce and other stakeholders in sustainable practices. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: * Lead engagement with clients and partners, promoting recycling and sustainability initiatives through targeted campaigns and incentives. * Provide guidance on waste management and ESG topics, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practices across the site. * Support the ESG team with the development and delivery of our environmental initiatives. Continuous Improvement: * Identify areas for improvement in waste and recycling processes and develop innovative solutions using emerging technologies. * Manage waste providers and reporting providers through KPIs to ensure optimal service and cost-efficiency. * Support efforts to achieve prescribed waste reduction targets and enhance environmental impact. The Person * 2-3 years of experience in waste management or sustainability roles, with a strong understanding of waste and recycling operations. * Proven ability to engage stakeholders and lead sustainability initiatives. * Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex sustainability topics. * Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and the ability to improve processes based on data. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP). * Experience with ESG reporting and initiatives. * Knowledge of carbon-neutral strategies and environmental regulations. * Professional certification in sustainability or ESG (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED).
