Job Summary
Nuco Solutions are looking for an experienced Waste Collection Operative to work on their client's contracts in Yeovil and surrounding areas of Somerset. Th ideal candidate should deliver a well-organised and cost-effective collection service of bulk waste and litter from communal areas within a designated area. This includes daily coordination of waste collection, ensuring proper disposal and recycling in line with environmental guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Collect and dispose of bulk waste and litter from communal areas, recycling where possible.
* Ensure safe internal and external collections, with awareness of customer and public safety.
* Support other teams as needed, particularly during hedge cutting season for green waste removal.
* Accurately record site visits and tasks using the PDA Reporting system.
* Comply with all Health & Safety policies and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
* Maintain and report defects on tools and equipment to ensure cleanliness and operational readiness.
* Perform regular vehicle checks, ensuring cleanliness and reporting defects to the Fleet Coordinator.
* Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Experience in waste collection or a similar field.
* Skilled and confident driver of large wheelbase vehicles.
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* Effective communication with clear, courteous interactions with customers and colleagues.
* Collaborative team player who builds and maintains positive working relationships.
