Job Title: Waste Coordinator (FLT)
Location: Chipping Norton
Pay rate: £15.00 per hour
Working hours: 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary - minimum of several months, with potential for long-term employment
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated Waste Coordinator to manage waste operations on a single-person site. This role requires strong communication skills, confidence dealing with customers, IT competency, and hands-on operational ability. The successful candidate will be responsible for both physical waste handling and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation of the site.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
· Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to move waste materials safely and efficiently
· Perform manual handling tasks as required
· Operate a compactor and vertical baler to process waste materials
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with site standards
Administration & Coordination
· Complete IT-based administrative work (data entry, reporting, waste tracking, etc.)
· Book waste collections with suppliers via email and phone
· Liaise daily with the customer to ensure operational needs are met and any issues are resolved
Customer Interaction
· Act as the main point of contact on-site
· Provide clear communication and professional support to the client
· Report operational updates, challenges and achievements
Ideal Skills & Experience
· Strong communication skills and ability to interact confidently with customers
· Solid IT skills (emails, spreadsheets, booking systems, reporting tools)
· Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
· Ability to work independently in a single-person environment
· Physically capable of manual work and handling waste materials
· Previous experience in waste management or a supervisory role is highly desirable
