Water Hygiene Engineer – Midlands
£26000-£30000 + Overtime + Van (Private use) – based on a 40-hour week
Join one of the UK’s leading independently owned Environmental Consultancies, with six regional offices and over 100 staff nationwide. Due to continued growth, their Midlands Division, the fastest-growing arm of the business is expanding and currently require an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer with any plumbing skills being seen as beneficial, but not essential,
You will be responsible for delivering a range of water hygiene duties across a range of large commercial sites including: - Schools and educational establishments, Retail outlets, Hospitality venues, Government buildings.
Duties of the Water Hygiene Engineer will include
* Sampling and Testing water for bacteria (e.g., Legionella), pH levels, and other contaminants.
* Conducting temperature checks on hot and cold-water systems.
* Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify Legionella hazards in water systems.
* Performing chemical dosing and disinfection of water systems.
* Flushing of outlets, cleaning, and de-scaling of water tanks and pipework.
* Regular inspection and maintenance of closed systems, water tanks, and plumbing systems.
* Compiling detailed reports of findings, monitoring logs, and compliance checks.
* Providing guidance to clients on water hygiene management.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all tests and maintenance activities.
Water Hygiene Engineer experience required
* 3+ years working as a Water Hygiene Engineer
* Hold industry qualifications such as Legionella Awareness and City and Guilds Hot and Cold-Water Systems
* An interest to develop your skill set in water treatment and risk assessing.
* Excellent customer service skills, dealing with customers face to face, maintaining site standards
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
* A full UK driving licence
