Job Description

New Role: Weighbridge Operative – Immediate Start

Location: Leighton Buzzard, LU7 9LF
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 16:30 (First day start at 09:00 to accommodate trainer arrival)
Rate: £12.71 per hour PAYE or £14.25 PAYE inc holiday

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Weighbridge Operative to join our client in Leighton Buzzard on an immediate basis. Full training and support will be provided for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately produce weighbridge tickets for all inbound and outbound loads

Communicate with site staff via radio to coordinate vehicle loading

Ensure all drivers and visitors are wearing appropriate PPE

Notify drivers of any overweight vehicles

Enforce credit stop procedures, only allowing transactions with appropriate authorisation

Monitor and report weighbridge issues (damage, cleanliness, inaccuracies)

Inspect inbound documentation for compliance

Accurately complete outbound documentation in line with legislation

Maintain a clean and tidy weighbridge office

Ensure drivers and visitors understand and follow site rules

Answer telephone calls professionally

Collaborate with colleagues to operate the site safely and efficiently

Uphold health and safety standards, including the use of PPE and reporting of incidents

Requirements:

Ability to start immediately

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Good communication skills and attention to detail

Willingness to learn and follow processes
