We are currently recruiting for a Weighbridge Operator, please apply if you feel you have the skills and experience!
Job Title: Weighbridge Operator
Location: Skelmersdale- WN8 0DD
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay: £14.50
Job Purpose:
To manage the day-to-day operation of the weighbridge at a busy waste management facility, ensuring accurate weighing and recording of all vehicle movements. The role supports compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate the weighbridge system to weigh all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Accurately record vehicle weights, waste types, and driver details using weighbridge software.
Issue tickets and documentation in line with company and legal requirements.
Liaise with drivers, site operatives, and external hauliers in a professional and courteous manner.
Monitor vehicle movements to ensure compliance with site rules and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for reporting and auditing purposes.
Assist with general administrative duties including data entry, filing, and report generation.
Ensure the weighbridge area is kept clean, safe, and operational at all times.
Report any system faults, discrepancies, or safety concerns to the site manager promptly.Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a weighbridge or waste management company.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with weighbridge or logistics software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of waste management processes and health & safety regulations.
