Overview of the role:
Working Hours: 40+ hours per week, Mondays – Fridays.
The role will be based at Chesterfield (S41 9).
WARD are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Weighbridge Operator at Chesterfield. The role includes all the duties required of our Weighbridge Operator plus supporting the site manager with the administration and management of the yard. Occasional yard walks and staff liaison required.
Chesterfield is a busy multi-use yard with scrap, recycling & hazardous materials arriving on company and third-party vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Site manager, as a weighbridge operator you will serve as the central point of communications, security and directing customer activity within the facility. You will be responsible for overseeing weighing delivery vehicles and maintaining accurate records for the site, completing and maintaining site records, carrying out safety checks and promote positive culture within the site. This is a customer facing role and requires good communication and people skills as you will likely be the first point of escalation for customer queries at the site.
* Being a first point of contact for the site and liaising with customers and contractors
* Organise and implement procedures to improve the efficiency of the weighbridge
* Oversight and strict adherence to the documentation process
* Control and Management of recordkeeping of site-specific data
* Oversee quality control and weight checks of vehicles
* Adhere to strict Health and Safety standards and promote a positive H&S culture.
* Updating stock sheets, stock control and non-conformance review
* Occasional yard and visitors’ duties may be required to complete the role
Skills and Knowledge Required:
* Previous experience in a Weighbridge role or Administration Supervision is essential
* The successful candidate will have strong IT skills and be competent using Microsoft Office or equivalent (ideally experience with Microsoft Dynamics)
* Experience within the metal/waste recycling industry is beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.
* Experience with Haulage Documentation (ADR, Consignment Notes) is beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.
* Must be trustworthy, reliable, and highly motivated with a keen eye for details
* Good People/Customer Service Skills essential
