Role: Weighbridge Operator
Pay Rate: £12.68 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Torr Concrete Products, East Cranmore, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 4SQ, UK.
Shift Pattern: 8 am to 5 pm with half an hour break
Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract Length: Minimum 3 months with the possibility of extension
Start: ASAP (Once completing onboarding checks)
Responsibilities:
* Manage weighbridge operations, ensuring all vehicle movements are recorded accurately and efficiently.
* Provide exceptional customer service to drivers, contractors, and internal teams, resolving queries in a professional and timely manner.
* Process delivery and collection documentation, ensuring all records are maintained to company standards.
* Support stock management by monitoring material movements and ensuring accurate reporting.
* Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Assist in maintaining site security by controlling vehicle access and ensuring all visitors adhere to safety protocols.
* Communicate effectively with site management, sharing updates on weighbridge activities and operational concerns.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role or within a fast-paced operational environment.
* Strong IT skills, with experience in systems such as SAP or similar platforms, preferred.
* Logistics experience with knowledge of lorry weight limits
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with drivers, trades and colleagues
* Customer service focus with a people-oriented approach
* Proven ability to handle customer queries professionally and effectively.
* Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Understanding of safe working practices and site protocols.
