Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Welder Fabricator to join our workshop team. The role involves fabricating and welding mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium to produce high-quality bespoke components and assemblies. The successful candidate will have experience in both MIG and TIG welding, be confident working from technical drawings, and take pride in producing precise, well-finished work.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out welding and fabrication using MIG and TIG on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
*
Fabricate and assemble components from sheet, plate, tube, and box section.
*
Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings accurately.
*
Operate workshop equipment such as guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and CNC/laser profiling machinery.
*
Grind, polish, and finish welds to a high visual and structural standard.
*
Ensure fabrications meet required tolerances and customer specifications.
*
Maintain safe working practices, correct use of PPE, and workshop housekeeping.
*
Work both independently and collaboratively to deliver projects on time.
*
Support occasional site work, installations, or dispatch activities when required.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Proven experience in fabrication and welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
*
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques; ability to work to high standards of accuracy.
*
Skilled in cutting, shaping, and forming metal parts into assemblies.
*
Competence in reading and working from fabrication/engineering drawings.
*
Good attention to detail, especially in achieving high-quality surface finishes.
*
Understanding of safe working practices in a fabrication shop.
*
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within a small team environment.
Desirable Qualifications / Attributes
*
Recognised welding qualifications/certifications (MIG/TIG for stainless and aluminium).
*
Experience with aluminium polishing/finishing techniques.
*
Exposure to precision fabrication projects requiring tight tolerances.
*
Flexible and adaptable approach with willingness to take on varied projects.
